My last beach day of the season

Yesterday was my last beach day of the season. This means, my summer is coming to an end.

I head back to school on Saturday, but before I fully get into sweater and jeans mode, I figured I’ll do one more bathing suit post. You can find my last one, here.

This summer, I started going down to the shore around 1:15 p.m. At this time, many early beachgoers are leaving. This also means you find a parking spot faster and closer to the beach. And, in the afternoon, the temperature starts to drop. My red headed self LOVES when it begins to cool off. Heat isn’t really my friend!

We had a great beach day. It was a little chilly but I didn’t mind. The sun was out, the water was warm (ish) and I was able to spend quality time with my friends before we all head back to our universities for another academic year.

About the bathing suit from Luxe Caramel:

The bathing suit I’m wearing is from Luxe Caramel. I got it super recently and I love it! Truthfully, I didn’t know of the company before they reached out, but I was interested in trying out a different bathing suit brand.

The sizing is true to size so I ordered a small (I’m usually a 2, if you need a reference). It’s a bit snug but the bathing suit has stretch and is comfortable to wear. The print is loud and I loved that. It definitely stands out to me.

It seems like the high waisted bathing suit bottom trend isn’t going anywhere for awhile. From last year, to this year, company’s keep on pushing the high waisted bathing suit style (which I love and feel extra comfortable in). Just an FYI, if you’re in a time crunch, this company’s shipping took some time. I personally was in no rush to receive the bathing suit.

I know bathing suit season is coming to an end, but before we know it’ll be spring break time and then summer comes back around. Plus, who can have too many bathing suits…?

Transitioning from summer to fall fashion

Don’t shoot the messenger but fall is just about to be here. This means fall fashion trends are just starting up. Before we know it, we will be putting away the two piece swimsuits and pulling out the sweaters.

fall fashion trendsFall is my favorite season AND my favorite season to dress for. I’m already eyeing some pieces and scoping out upcoming fall fashion trends.

The pieces I’ve been eyeing are good pieces as you transition from summer to fall. These amazon prime joggers actually popped up as an advertisement on my instagram. I loved them! These joggers make for a perfect transitional piece from summer to fall. The material seems to be lightweight, airy and the color is a warm light beige. This color is a fall and summer staple. Joggers don’t seem to be going out of style anytime soon, so yes, I consider them a fall fashion trend.

Mini hand bags are coming in, CALLING IT NOW! This isn’t necessarily a fall fashion trend, but it can be! Especially if the color of the bag is warm toned. Lauren Elizabeth (an influencer) posted with a white mini, vintage like purse on Instagram. I thought it was so cute! Now, I’m seeing them everywhere, especially at TopShop and Zara. This bag instantly caught my eye. The light pink color is my favorite, and the tortoise detailing is a simple touch, perfect for fall. The mini bag comes with a strap if you want to use it as a cross body too. This piece is definitely an acquired taste, but I’m loving this bag for fall (without the strap). It’s my favorite fall fashion piece, as of right now.

fall fashion trends

Beige lightweight joggers | Mini pink purse | Tortoise heeled sandals | Satin green romper | Pink Apple Watch band | Girlfriend lightwash jeans

I’ve always been a huge tortoise fan. I love the neutrals tones in it. I’m in love with these heeled sandals. The tortoise mixed with the black screams fall to me. Yes, they’re sandals, but you can definitely get away with wearing these to a dressier/night event in the fall season. They’re a close second to the mini purse when it comes to fall fashion trends I’m eyeing! Also noticing that strappy heeled sandals in general are becoming a popular fashion trend. With this summer fashion trend being neon everything, I’ve seen a bunch of heeled strappy sandals. Heading back to school soon, I know I don’t need these tortoise heeled sandals (heels get super dirty at college FYI) but UGH.

Rompers are ALWAYS a good bet for any occasion. As I’m transitioning into fall I still want to wear rompers but because we’re headed into a new season I think the key is to buy darker colored rompers. Darker colored rompers are more fall like than if I bought a bright pink romper (you know what I mean?). I also love how this romper has a bit of a sleeve to it, it makes for a great transitional piece from summer to fall. I love the satiny finish to this romper and think you could dress it up or down by playing w accessories. The color of this romper and the length of the sleeves makes it a great transitional fall piece.

This Apple Watch band, is so cute! It doesn’t necessarily scream fall fashion trend but it could be one depending what you style it with. I’ve never seen a pink acrylic band but I love this. It dresses up your Apple Watch, but if you like the more casual band with every outfit, then this probably isn’t for you. Getting the links taken out could be annoying, so something to take into consideration.

So I’ve been EYEING the Levi light colored 501 skinny jeans for awhile. But, right now, I don’t feel like spending $98 on a pair of jeans. I know it’s not too bad of a price because jeans last a long time, but listen, I wear dark unripped jeans 98.9 percent of the time. It’s just more my style, but when I go out at school, I tend to either go for black jeans or I’ll want light colored jeans with a few, tasteful rips. So I found what I think to be the perfect dupe for the Levi 501 skinny jeans, this pair from Abercrombie look pretty similar! I just bought them, they came in the mail today and I LOVE them. 10 out of 10. They’re perfect for fall because jeans are ALWAYS a fall fashion trend.

Swimwear guide

Summer is in FULL swing. I honestly don’t remember it ever being this hot in New Jersey. With it being July, I thought it was appropriate to do a swimwear guide and show you some of my current, affordable swimwear favorites.

swimwear guide

So last year, high waisted bathing suit bottoms were just coming into style and becoming popular. This year, high waisted bathing suit bottoms are the it trend for swimwear.

Last year, I think the it trend were one pieces. I love both, I think they’re both flattering for every body type too.

I think style wise, always go for the style you’re most comfortable in, whether that be your traditional two piece, high waisted bottoms or  a one piece. But, then play with prints and patterns to bring yourself a little out of your comfort zone.

I chose my favorites in my swimwear guide based off what I’m comfortable in. I LOVE leopard, it’s a huge fashion trend right now. On a bathing suit I love the print even more. Right now, I’m also loving the high waisted bottoms. You’ll see that all through out my swimwear guide.

CURRENT SWIMWEAR FAVORITES:

Leopard print bikini

Striped pastel swimsuit

Green swimsuit

Tan tie front bikini

Sometimes, people think one pieces are covering up your body. Today, they have so many cool and different one pieces to choose from. But, I love the simple ones with patterns, it makes the swimsuit so fun. I love the pastel swimsuit above that’s apart of my current swimwear favorites because it’s girly, yet comfortable. I love the pastel colors in it!

Below I have pictures apart of my swimwear guide from a recent trip to Long Beach Island. And surprise, one is my Mom’s bathing suit from the 80’s. It’s crazy how styles come back in, I love it. It’s one of my favorite bathing suits now.

You’ll also see me in leopard, shocker.. I love the leopard bikini bottoms in the pictures below, the bottoms are from Nasty Gal. Nasty Gal is one of my favorite places to buy swimwear. They have a great selection of different styles and sizes are always in stock! It’s a win, win situation.

Hair accessories are HUGE right now. So of course I added hair accessories to my swimwear guide. Forever 21, francesca’s and H&M have the best affordable hair accessories that I’ve seen. I’ll have a blog post guide with affordable accessories soon. Adding an accessory can change the entire look of an outfit or a swimsuit.

You’ll see because I’m wearing a black bikini top, I took the print from the bottoms into my hair accessory. This way, there is not too much leopard. But, simple hair scarfs without a print are great too. They add just a little something more. Definitely play with accessories and incorporate them into your swimwear!

Summer outfit for a daytime party

I wore this summer outfit to a graduation party during the day and thought it was super fitting for the occasion. I think this is a great outfit for a summer afternoon lunch or just hanging out with family and friends.

White jeans are ALWAYS my go to for a casual summer outfit, most tops pair really well with white jeans too. I think being tan in a pair of white jeans makes a huge difference too. I actually got my white jeans from Marshalls. I didn’t think they’d carry the perfect white jean but they did! I deffinitely recommend checking out your Marshalls for a pair of stretchy, fitting, high-waisted pair of white jeans or for any summer outfit.

OK I’m  such a cheap person, majority of my friends know this. I HATE spending money and never buy anything without looking at the price tag first, especially when it comes to seasonal summer outfits. I was so drawn to the simplicity of this green top. It’s delicate, yet fitting and had really cute detailing. Yes, I spent $40 dollars on a tank top. I realized after and was like eh whatever. That’s SO unlike me but I’m happy I kept the top because I’ve been wearing it a bunch and its been my go to summer outfit! It’s from a boutique called Lucki Clover. Lucki Clover has the best pieces to make a casual summer outfit. You can order off their Instagram!

I don’t mind spending too much money on outfits. When it comes to accessories, I try not to spend as much. I do this because accessories frequently change for me depending on the trend. I love statement earrings but you will not catch me spending $50 on a pair of fun earrings that go with maybe five outfits in my closet. That’s when I look to Shein. Most of my statement earrings are from there. This straw bag (which I’ve been eyeing since last summer) I finally bought. I’m obsessed with it! The best part is that this straw bag was only $25 dollars from Shein, so I won’t be having buyers remorse.

My apple watch band is from Target, I really wanted a beige/light pink band that goes with every outfit  and of course my staple and go to ray-bans.

Spring to summer pieces & sales!

So in no way do my weekly picks make a cohesive outfit together, but as seperates I love the pieces!

I bought a similar more flowy pair of paper boy shorts in beige but I love these, they’re more structured. On Nasty Gal, the model is wearing these shorts with a white straight across bodysuit, I love it. It’s a great spring to summer piece and looks more relaxed then denim shorts.

  • Nasty Gal is everything 60% off everything!!

I’ve had my eye on a satchel like this since last summer, when the trend first started. I didn’t want to spend a lot on this bag because it’s a seasonal purchase. I found one on Shein, Shein is my go to for accessories, bathing suits and bags. The quality of their clothing is a hit or miss. The bag looks exactly like this picture, although the quality isn’t great, it works and is functional.

OK so I got these shoes because I have a summer internship in NYC at PIX11, so I will be walking a good amount. I knew my feet wouldn’t survive in my flats, they have 0 support and after a long day my feet are DEAD. I found these, I’ll let you know if I like them, but they seem to have a lot of support. I also love the look of these with the white platform and tassel on top. So if you’re a working girl, I think these are so cute.

  • FYI these are orignially $99, I found them on Macy’s for 50% off, score!!!

I’m obsessed with statement earrings. Like they transform looks to me, I’m obsessed. Typically, I purchase my statement earrings from Shein, but Francesca’s is having a huge mothers day sale, earrings are 2 for $25!! I love these beige and white ones, so summery.

Back to Nasty Gal, I’m all for funky sunglasses, but I don’t want to spend the money on them. These are tortoise printed which I love and are cat eye so super different. Deffinitely not an everyday pair but they could make a simple outfit super fun!

  • Again, Nasty Gal is 60% off.

Style watch: Hair clips, like these.
